Recover data from a scratched disk

DVD's are great for storing large collections of music,or high quality video. But there's one problem that keeps us from using them as a major backup medium, and that is,their proneness to getting scratched.Once scratched, the data may or may not be available or read by the computer, depending upon the scratch.
The day before,I happened to install some old game demos that I wanted to play on my laptop. But the DVD was barely readable, and if I'd install them directly from the DVD,it would give me an installation error. So I stumbled through the internet, and found this very effective tool to save data from scratched disks. The name of the software is CD Recovery Toolbox.
Just follow the instructions below to recover data from your disks.

  • Download CD Recovery Toolbox from here
    http://www.oemailrecovery.com/cd_recovery.html
  • Install it.Insert the scratched disk into the DVD drive.
  • Once your DVD/CD is visible in My Computer,Start up CD Recovery Toolbox.
  • The software will detect your disk, make sure its name is visible on the main screen.
  • Click "next".Now the software will show you the list of folders and their respective contents.Just select the files you want to save, enter the location on your PC where you want to save the files, and click next.
  • It will take some time, and once finished successfully, the software will mark your file as saved
