Monitor your CPU temperature.

With the advancement of applications used on a desktop PC,one thing that always bothers the proper functioning of these PC's is the large amount of HEAT generated by the CPU,specially when playing games using dedicated Graphics cards.Although this might not seem a totally destructive behavior, it can cause some troublesome situations if not controlled, for example it may degrade system performance, cause lag in games, etc. Also, overheated components may also evolve noise to some extent.
To combat overheating problems,a simple solution is to download a small tool, known as CoreTemp. This piece of software shows temperature of each CPU core, that is if you have a Dual, quad or other i-series CPU's.
